"Core curriculum includes mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, spelling, handwriting, and health. Vocal music, physical education & fitness, and art are also offered.
Kindergarten, First, and Second grades employ classroom aides who assist the teacher in Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP). DAP provides help for the individual needs of each student, whether he is fast or slower developmentally. All elementary schools have computer labs. Construction was complete at each elementary site, with over $50 million in remodeling for our older elementary schools.
"Kids Connection", a before-and-after school child care program, is offered at all buildings. Call (248) 674-0993 for costs and schedules. The gifted student may participate in a pullout program for grades Four and Five called Clarkston Academically Talented (CAT). Other students may be involved in special talent development programs throughout the year. Youth enrichment classes are provided after school for additional fees. Programs vary by building." *
